In March 2022, I was laid off from my job in Los Angeles. On paper, my life looked solid. Stable job, comfortable routine, everything I thought I was supposed to want. But deep down, it felt flat and boring. I was living a life that looked good from the outside but didn't actually feel fulfilling.

So I sold most of my things, packed two backpacks and a camera, and left.

I thought I was going on a trip, and it turned into a way of life. I backpacked Europe, then ended up running a hostel on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala for almost two years. After that, a month in Colombia. Right now I'm based in Antigua, Guatemala, slowly working my way toward eventually settling somewhere close to the Mediterranean.

Most travel writing comes from people passing through. Mine doesn't. The places I write about are places I've lived in, eaten daily in, gotten lost in, made friends in. That changes the kind of advice you get.

This space is for people like me: curious, a little restless, opposed to surface-level vacations. Slow travelers who'd rather spend ten days in one city than ten cities in ten days. People quietly wondering what their life would look like if they spent a month, three months, or a year somewhere new.

You'll find:

  • Real guides to places I've actually lived in or spent serious time in (Spain, Portugal, Guatemala, Costa Rica, with more on the way)

  • Honest takes on slow travel, longer stays, and what it actually takes to live abroad

  • Trip planning support for travelers who want something thoughtful, not generic

I'm not here to sell you the cheapest way to see the world. I'm here to help you travel in a way that feels good to live, not just good to post.

If that sounds like you, stick around.
